Meet Rabbi Yosef & Basya Stevenson
Founders of Chabad at Mines
Our passion for Jewish community and education started when we ourselves were college students searching for connection. Each on our own but similar journeys, we found each other, got married, started a family and now we're here in Golden, building what we believe is an essential part of every campus.
Rabbi Yosef holds a master's in engineering from Georgia Tech. Now a rabbi by training, he combines both skill sets, teaching Jewish values in a way that challenges people to think deeply. You can find him with a Jewish book and a cold brew coffee any time of day.
Basya graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She's a creative at heart, but her real passion is community building, one person at a time. Her days are spent focused on her family and on the needs of the Jewish community here at Mines. Some days that's delivering matzah ball soup to someone under the weather; other days it's teaching a class on Jewish philosophy, planning the next Shabbat dinner, or just being a listening ear for a student who needs one.
